newbie help please
Hello My daughter has a 1997 discovery. I'm kinda of assuming this is a discovery I.
I downloaded the rave manual, which file do i look to figure out how to get to the correct make and model manual?
one more thing planning on changing front brakes I have the jack that came with the vech. to raise it, but where do I place the jack stand? I have looked at the owners manual but I can only find jacking points. do I have to jack vech. up at the differental casing and have both front wheels off the ground at the same time? Is there a way to do one wheel at a time? using the jack that came with the vech. Can i use the jack that came with vech. to jack it up at the differental casing?
Thank You advance for any help

Hi and welcome. I would encourage you to read the RAVE about the brakes, especially if you plan on doing Rovers. The D1's aren't like most disc brake vehicles that you can change the rotors and pads in a half hour. Changing the rotors is a pretty involved process that takes some extra parts and a couple tools you may not have. I'm not trying to scare you off, but I think you may have bit off a little more than you expect. The rotor change process isn't particularly difficult, just tedious and time consuming.
You can place the jack stand anywhere you want thats solid, the frame is a good place as well as the axle.
Yes you can do one side at a time, no need to remove the calipers either if all you are doing is pads and not rotors.
DO NOT trust that jack with your life, many have failed halfway though the job because they are old and prone to leaking.
