Thanks. Wondering though, what explains the wide range of pricing on these sensors?
Your tip on NGK on Amazon's sweet, though it doesn't mention a heat shield. Is that gonna be a factor?
might just go for all four.

No heat shield needed. Getting 4 is not a bad bet but I would just get two. The downstream is just for emissions, no drivability.

The o2 sensor on amazon is a NTK25044. Rock auto lists that number for rovers with AEL and NTK25017 for Rovers with out AEL. Can anyone confirm that?

Just a headsup, before you order the NTK O2 Sensors (either #25044 or #25017) you will need to know what Evap/Emissions you have.
Very simple to ID > https://www.roverparts.com/TechTips/...ons_system.cfm
OR > https://www.roverparts.com/resources...ssions-system/

And 100% get the NTK O2's!!!!

It's a 96, no AEL. Man, Ocarlo you've got all the heavy hitters here tonight! NTK 25017, all four. AELS came out the second half of 97, I know this because I had an early 97 without AEL, roundish vapor can that stood straight up.

Knowledge and $$ savings! Much appreciated, gents.
The two sensors and a new brake booster, and I should be good for awhile.
Then a long solo road trip anywhere. Will report back with numbers. cheers.

In case anyone else is looking, a price update on o2 sensor, non-AELS, $99-150 stateside:
Found this.
https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-ERR1834P1
$63.19
Same part number, cept for the extra P1.

Ws also looking for a brake booster, cheapest I found was $189.
Found this OEM: https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-STC1286P1
$140
2-3 day shipping: $15. no VAT.
??they seem quite a lot cheaper than anything stateside, including Ebay, and offer genuine, OEM and aftermarket on the same page.
