Default Please Please help

My battery died on my disco 1 so this morning I went to give it a jump. I left my keys on my drivers seat while I hooked up the jumper cables. I wasn't sure of where to put the negative end on my Rover so I touched it to the metal part near where I attach the hood bar. To my surprise this contact/electrical surge locked all my doors. So now my car is dead with the keys locked inside. I have a spare set but those were inside the car too because I had been working on it the day before using those. I really really don't want to pay hundreds of dollars for a new window. Is there any way I can unlock the car?

Try touching the wire to it again, maybe it will unlock!!?
Window glass can be had pretty cheap and is easy to DIY replace. Break one of the 2nd row windows if you have to.

um... not to state the obvious but I was thinking about this dilemma earlier today. In the olden days when one locked themselves out of their vehicle, they would call roadside assistance. Isn't that an option or am I missing something here.. ?...

Why are we even talking about breaking windows????

Roadside assistance actually quoted me more than it would cost for a new window as I live a ways from town. Retouching the negative didn't work but a friend and I got bailing twine and "flossed" it between the door and body of the car all the way down until it was tight against the manual pull up door lock. We then got a metal coat hanger and stuck it too between the door and the door frame. Using the bailing twine to keep the hanger tight against the manual pull up and levering the coat hanger we were able to lift the manual pull up enough to unlock the door.
