Default power steering hose nut will not connect to box

Help or advice needed. I cannot get the nut on high pressure hose to catch on the steering box. It is like the threads on the nut does not go down far enough to catch the threads on the box. I pushed down on the nut for 30 minutes and could not get it to catch. I think it is a BA hose is after market new. it was with a kit with three. any advice would be great.

i had the same exact issue. I think it is supposed to be that way and you gotta get forceful. I tried a different approach. The whole is 8.11mm but the outside edge is 8.24mm - at least mine WAS. I introduced the good ol’ Dremmel to the outside edge of the flair on the hose. Fit like a glove thereafter.

clean it and lube it prior to install.

Are you using an AllMakes4x4 product? I had the same problem and when I compared it to another supplier, it was clear the terminating end was too wide to fit properly. See my photo below. The red arrow is pointing to the end of the hose where its too large to grab the threads of the steering box.

You're going to need a new hose or you risk stripping the port.
