This upholstery shop did the headliner in my Explorer Sport, did a fantastic job, so I went back to them to do the Disco. They're one of the better upholstery shops around, so you get what you pay for. And I'm bound and determined to do what I can to stimulate small businesses in the local economy, lol...

I'll take the Disco to the auto electric shop that installed my new speakers, and ask the guy about wiring up those light bars, and if he goes thru the roof, how he plans on dealing with the headliner, and making it water-tight.
geez, that $$.. although it did cost me $120 for materials to do mine.

Did mine a couple years ago. Texture paint then top coat with acrylic color matched... Looks great and holds up to whatever, plus easily touched up if needed
Good primer and prep is key, of course

On my Jeep Grand Cherokee, the wires run up the A-pillar under the trim up to the drip rail. They then just lay across the roof from the drip rail to the roof bar. It means that I can then remove everything without leaving any holes if I ever need too.

The relay to power the lights is n the engine bay and then I only needed to run one wire through the bulkhead to the switch on the dash.
