If the radio was replaced at any time the dealer will need the serial number off the replacement radio to get the proper code. Before you call the dealer it might be wise to get the serial number off the back of the radio. Give them the VIN and the serial number and they should be able to provide the correct code.

I have a local dealership that I have no affiliation with that has provided dozens of codes for me without ever asking for anything more than the VIN and serial number for the radio. I have never had a request for a faxed copy of a title or registration or any proof of ownership. If you call one dealer and they want proof simply hang up and try another one.

OK for all those needing the radio case this is what rover required in 2009

Call this #

1-800-637-6837. Ext# 2880

They then asked us to FAX a copy of the car title in my name with a copy of my rivers license reflecting same address

FAX to 201-818-9781

At that time it went atten Joanne and her direct ext# was 2945

So try the dealer but don't hold your breath my brother is a used car dealer and they said no, my buddy owns a shop and buys parts from them enough to know the karts guy answer was no

Probly have to jump through their hoops

That's INSANE and, thankfully, something I have never had to do in the many years I've dealt with Rover parts. I call my local dealer and give them the VIN and radio serial number and they call back within minutes with the proper code. Again, in over a dozen years no one has ever asked me for a title to prove ownership.

I'm just thinking about the absurdity of Land Rover requiring a process like that for a radio that is between 15 and 20 years old. A cassette radio no less.

I agree, maybe it is just because the local rover dealer does not want to help? I have had no good dealings with them
