Radio won't turn on
OK, so I've been tinkering around with my radio in order to integrate an iPod connection. More on that in another thread when I'm finally done (if ever).
I pulled the radio to test some connections to the CD player. Upon replacing the radio, it won't turn on.
All fuses are good. #3, 12 & 13 all good. Heck, I visually inspected nearly all the fuses.
I realize now that when I pulled the connectors from the back of the radio it was beeping (as if it were being stolen). Is it possible the alarm disabled the radio?
What is the fix for this?
I figure a battery dis-connect for a good 1/2 hour might solve my problem as the alarm ECU re-sets itself.
Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Walt- I always wonder how people deal with this. I would imagine there is a small battery in the head unit that holds it in a disabled state. Is there a code? On my daily if I mess it up I can enter the code from my owners manual. Watching..... Good luck

When it needs a code because power has been cut it asks for it. That is an easy one. This one has got me. It is a complete brick. I needed a new battery and put one in today and there is no difference. I guess it is time to do a search on alarm ecu resets.
Anyone have any thoughts?

this happened to me recently.
try leaving the key in the on position for about an hour.
this should reset the radio so it will accept a code.
when i replaced mine it locked me out completely. not even a flashing red light on the radio. turned both the radio and the truck off and then turned the key to the ON position and let it sit for an hour.
came back and turned on the radio. it asked for the code. i entered the code. it worked just fine.
hope this helps.

if this doesn't work do a search on discoweb in the D1 section using term "radio".

I'll give it a shot. When you say "the ON position", would that be position I (just electrics/accessories) or II (ignition)? III would be the 'starter' position and "0" would be 'off'.
And to confirm, while the key was in position I or II you had the radio **** in the off position?

i think i left it in the ON position. however, in my searches i found people saying to leave it in the ON and some in the START position.
i also read both on and off for the radio itself. off worked for me.
