I'd do a bit more diagnostics.

There ia a test valve on the passenger side fuel rail. 32-34 PSI is expected when pump is running. Pump draws like 5 amps, and that must run thru the fire wall mounted inertia (crash) switch. Reset by pushing down in center.

Got sparks when trying to crank? No sparks could be bad crank position sensor.

Pump runs for about 2 seconds when key turned to psoition 2.

Time for a big plate of wild shrimp at RB's on Shem Creek.

When mine went out I took the cover off and disconnected the wire harness. One female
connector looked burnt do to the bad motor drawing too much current. After reinstalling
it started again until I had time to put the new pump in.

if you end up needing a fuel pump and it is an ael model the sedder has a few plugs and a rubber vent and 2 quick connect fuel lines, remove the large ring there is a big rubber gasket ring

if you do a search there is a cheap pump from autozone that you can buy and install in your sender pump strainer fuel injector line and fuel injection clamps think it should cost like 30-40 bucks for repair

do testing first
