Thumbs up Resetting "Adaptive" Values after IACS replacement.

Ok, so as some might know, I had to replace my IACS after the idle went high.
Easy enough until I went to find an independent shop to reset the adaptive values. They tried to baffle me with bull .
As chance would have it, ropertf on DiscoWeb (http://tinyurl.com/hccqx4g) wrote a program to reset the values about the same time. It works on both Win and Mac. I used an old XP laptop and this: https://www.scantool.net/obdlink-sx/.

It worked great. For about 150 miles. Did it again. Lasted for about 300 miles. Did it a third time. Lasted about 1,500 miles. That was three days ago.
Think I might get set up with a bluetooth thingy and just hit a button on my phone. Also, I can't rule out some intake, plenum gasket leaks. Wee as they may be.
Overall, I am still giddy that I don't have to take it somewhere for this.

That is very cool!
I hope ropertf continues to add to this program.

Much thanks to ropertf - worked for me - idle is back to normal. Only a few min old so hopefully she holds.

I used a mac with VMware virtual machine - win7 64bit with OBDLink SX

biggest hangup was the proper dos language
proper example: "gems com3 reset"

I can't get this to work on my Windows 10 Pro computer. Any ideas?

Edit: Tried it on Windows Vista 32Bit and Windows 10 Home as well, still no luck with either program. Just says COM STATE ERRORConnected to:com4

If anybody knows how to fix this, that would be great because I am stumped and really need to get rid of my FMFR and AMFR codes.

'COM4' is not a constant - you must find out what port the usb is plugged into - under device manager in Win7 - I dont know 10

Device manager showed com4 as the usb scanner
This is in fact configurable in device manager regardless of OS version

Followed the same instructions but everything I try doesn't get it to work. I don't know why, maybe I'm missing something. But from my understanding this is the procedure:
Install driver for scanning cable
find port used
run program in command prompt by getting to the directory with the gems.exe executable and run "gems com# reset"
but every time I do that, nothing happens

The program that came with the cable works with my D1

Is there something else that I'm missing or something that I am doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
