rod big end specs - 1997 4.0 DI
Has anyone noticed the rave shows 2 different sizes for rod journals on the crank?
workshop manual - 4.0 specs - crankpin journal 2.1850 - 2.1855"
overhaul manual - 4.0 rod big end - 2.20 - 2.22"
I've always known the "crankpin" to be the rod big end.
I'm going to throw a set of bearings in as preventative maint. soon and that's a big diff.
luck,greg

Yea, something is definitly up with that. I would trust that first number, but the second? .020 variance? That tolerance is way outa the ballpark for a bearing dia.
I have learned to always double check what the rave says. I was looking up my fuel pump relay recently. Supposudly in the pass. footwell area. Nope. It's under the hood. And it's like a $100 assembly, not a $7 relay.

It would have been too much for them to state that.
Both references list the same metric size, tho"
I also don't like that they state do not re-install old bearings, didn't they ever use plasti-gauge?
