Who needs a Headliner? Rip it out!

You need to remove it to properly do anything to the sunroofs and most Alpines have some rust around them as well.

The headliner merely hides all the sloppy assembly hidden behind it!

mine's been out for almost a year now, it just lays there peacefully on the air hockey table in the garage waiting for someone to feel like recovering it.
meanwhile I keep fixing all the stuff (leaks) it was hiding etc....

I hope you're not serious about this... black is by far the easiest color to match. And the fact that you're talking about the roof and not a door or fender makes it 10x easier as well.

yeah smoker....stick to your welding.

just joking. was just reading your propshaft thread.

i feel that I have a 16 year old paint job under the roof rail. it is now a slightly different shade of beluga black with some scratches and oxidized parts which I will do my best to compound polish out. but it won't be the same as new for sure.

the roof needs to be painted as the rust is too pervasive. and i'm gonna do it myself cuz I don't have $300 burning a hole in my pocket. therefore I believe that I should not try and match it with new paint but go two tone of some sorts.

i've been doing a lot of the reno in flat black so I'm going that direction. i also like the rust solution from kbs so i would be limited to those colors.

just feel that's the best way to go with my skill sets.

Are you going to leave the roof rack on there and work around it or remove it, do the paint and then put it back on if you decide to?

Haha fair enough. I need to get acclimated to the tastes and tendencies of this crowd. Where I come from, it's very... um... different. To each his own.

Not as lot of Grey Poupon here, more like wild game cooked over a campfire with a cold beer.

I am 100% in favor of wild game, campfires, and cold beer. Maybe 110%

unfortunately this is our wild game here. welcome smoker.

gonna keep the roof rails...i dont have a rack and wouldn't get one unless it could hold a few 4x8 panels securely.
