Rover doesn't like the rain

So this has been a recurring problem for the past few weeks. If I drive in the rain the car will not either die while driving, or if I am lucky enough to make it home, will not restart for a day or two (I am assuming that something is drying out enough to allow it to start). Now today, it will not start after just sitting out in a light rain this morning. The starter is turning because I can see the serpentine belt is turning, and trying to push start it dosn't work either.
So is there anything else I should check before I push it into the garage to replace the crankshaft sensor, which was suggested here?

Your ECU is probably getting wet.
On a dry day, hood closed, use the garden hose and run water over the hood and fender, start with the passenger side, soak it for 5-10 min and then try to start it, if it wont start then water is most likely getting into the ECU and once it drys out its fine.
