I've got a '96 disco. when I lock the doors the alarm goes off within minutes.
HELP...

 

I had the same problem. Turned out to be the alarm ECU. Dealer wanted $300 Euro to fix, but I got one online for $100 USD. They installed and reprogrammed for me. Don't recall the cost for the installation, but did it that way for the re-programming. Works fine now.

 

Should the alarm ecu be the culprit - Do you know if there is a way to disable so I can al least lock the doors while I search for a replacement ?

 

Fan, are you locking with key or remote ? NAS vehicles are very different from Europe. Does the vehicle beep when locking or flash side lights 3 times ?

 

We're using a key to lock---first the hazards flash and it beeps then the side lights flash 3 x only.meanwhile a red bulb on the dash blinks (first flashes 3x per second while interior lights are on , when the interior lights dim out then the red bulb flashes 1x every second. Then within a minute (at the longest ) the alarm goes off. The exact same thing happens when using the remote to lock it.
