It all counts

I adjusted the backlash in my steering after the install of the new (reman) box. It really sucks doing it yourself.

I cleaned off all the chalk after telling my 6year-old that the LR is not a chalkboard. He had even climbed on the roof and colored up there.

I did my bi-weekly leak check, and I decided (I think) on the new tires and roof rack I need for my summer trip through the forest service roads of the Cascades.

I also put all the parts in my cart I need for replacing the front cover gasket and oil seal, anticipating I will pull the trigger and commit a weekend soon to getting it done.

Dropped my Rover off at the shop to have the steering/suspension/abs checked out for safety reasons. Should have a gruesome estimate tomorrow.

Oooh. I feel your pain. After doing the steering box and adjusting the backlash, the box is leaking like a sieve at the backlash adjustment and the locknut won't tighten. RockAuto is sending me a new one, but I have to pay shipping to send the piece of crap one back. The threads on the input shaft were my first clue it was a pile of turd. I should have returned it there.

Inflated the rear tires, both leak about 1 PSI per month at the beads, but I blame my rims. Bought a gas strut which I will weld to the toolbox on Friday.
