So what did you do to your Disco today?
My rear sunroof opened for the first time since I bought my '98 Disco. One day the switch just decided to work.... Now it will close, but not all the way. Upon inspection yesterday, one of the arms connected to the window is bent and the plastic "runner" that fits into the window position track is toast. What I've not figured out yet is why I can't open or close it manually, no matter what position the window is in. It seems the motor is bound. It will operate with the switch, but with an allen wrench it will not budge.
Still confused on the harmonic balancer. Water pump disintegrated last month. Replaced it, timing gears / chain, inspected oil pump, new fan and clutch. Installed HB and it had a bad wobble. Bought a used one and it too has a bad wobble. Has anyone used the services of The Damper Doctor in California? I want to rebuild one of mine. Does anyone have a rebuilt one or a KNOWN good one available?

Got it closed all the way. Not sure what I did, but I'm going to leave it alone and put replacing some of the sunroof components on my to-do list. That's after I put on a rebuilt HB (hopefully that will cure the wobble), new shocks, front end components, adjust preload and wheel bearings, new radio, seat switches and about a thousand other things...........
I'm kind of lucky as far as inspections go. We're not required to have to pass an emissions test. But, by God, you're license plate lights better work and if you have wipers on your headlights (our old Volvo), the blades better be in good shape....
yeah i wish we didnt have emissions testing. it can be a pain. I live a little south of Dallas.

Got some catching up to do here. Lol. Repaired leaky head gasket, replaced fan clutch (oem), hard wired fans to ignition source (switched), 180 t-stat, double coolant flush (4 day process) and 150 psi blowout of coolant system, engine oil flush and changed fluid/filter (lucas oils), added lucas trans additive to trans and tcase (shifts good, looks good, will change soon), changed spark plugs and changed driver side window motor. This rig was in decent shape. Replaced a few vacuum lines, clogged pcv and cleaned all the air fuel sensors. Runs and shifts great. 4x4 engages and diff lock works amazing. Needs paint and will either go with Coyote or olive drab? All for now, carry on..
checked the timing on my truck after driving around dealing w spark knock under load on the highway, managed to somehow short out my alternator. luckily, it was still under warranty and the parts store had one in stock.
gonna check the timing and vacuum advance again tomorrow... i think i was somewhere around 10 BTC, which was way too hot.
