Took my youngest daughter to the Dr. due to a cough, runny nose, and fever. No Covid/RSV/Strep throat just a common cold which is great (inlaws were positive she had Covid19....). I was driving down and got to the same intersection I had my lovely 200K lawsuit against me for supposedly running a red light and knocking the bed of a 500.00 95 Chevy Pickup clean off when they ran the red light while I actually had the green light (took 9 months but in the end the kid was found at fault with no valid drivers license at the time and the investigation on the intersection and his witness actually proved I had the green). That 99 D2 I was in suffered like 3 scratches to the ARB bumper vs a pickup bed totally ripped off it's mounts.

Well here I was in my 97 XD (Bright frigging AA Yellow.....) with about 30 other vehicles with a green light when a woman pulled up to the red looked right and apparently just said to herself 1,2,3 GO..... and pulled directly right out in front of me with maybe 15FT to spare. I slammed on the brakes and was nearly hit in the rear. I kept my hand on the horn for nearly 3/4 of a mile and also turned on every single aux light I had..... I was NOT going to go thru that crap again at the same DAMN intersection!!!!! I was beyond pissed lol. Glad I did a full brake system overall before the last big off road event as it certainly paid off today. My daughter in the back was just smiling and going weeeeeeeeeee with her arms up like it was a roller coaster.

I absolutely destroyed a local college girls 2019 Range Rover sport in the exact same way. My front winch bumper ripped the back half to shreds. Then she promptly told me her daddy as going to sue me and my piece of s**t D1. Then the cop put her in the his car for drunk driving. 😝😝😝 got home and hit the bumper with some paint and went on with my life.

Yep all I did on the D2 was sit the bumper up a bit and tighten up the bolts lol. His truck was TOAST...

They immediately called like Mike The Hammer vs ever going thru insurance. The entire my back/nech is trashed, PTSD, my girlfriend is pregnant and is having mental issues after the wreck yada yada yada. Then 9 months later I get a call and it simply said he was found to be at fault no current license, he in fact had a red, 0.00 is going to him, but sorry you had to deal with this drama for 9 months. I was relieved but at the same time pissed because one thing I don't do is LIE and that's all these people were doing to try and make $$$$$$ off something they did.

Yesterday I undercoated and rustproofed the rockers and door bottoms, re-installed the rocker moldings, and sealed the sunroofs. Today I fixed all the exterior lights, plus a current draw on the marker light circuit. I also ran the wiring for the stereo, re-installed the washer tank and removed the console to get at the transfer case shift linkage, which is still seized solid from sitting so long. Any suggestions on that little problem are welcome.

Cheers

Phil

I rebuilt the passenger seat adjuster for the 8th or 9th time. I'm damn good at it now. Less than 10 mins.

Changed oil and filter.

Installed some 87-93 RRC SWB aluminum floor rocker panels in my 95 D1 vs the D1's black plastic floor rocker panels. Had to modify them slightly to match the D1 setup, but good to go. Next up on the D1/RRC upgrades will be a 95 RRC Analog Clock vs the D1 Digital unit, RRC front passenger kick panel which allows you to store the owners manual on it, and I'm also going to see how it runs with a 4.2L 14CUX vs the 3.9 14CUX.

Default New Throttle Position Sensor

Installed a new TPS and reset the adaptive values with my GEMs app. Half hour's work and an excuse to drive around in the snow for another half an hour. 96 D1 4.0 L.

I finally got my '98 inspected and plated. After a year and a half, it's finally usable! It has (most of) an interior, all the electrical stuff is working, it's running fine with NO codes and purring like a kitten. I'm thinking of getting personalized plates that say RECYCLED. Our first real snowstorm is coming, so it will be fun to go for a rip!

Cheers

Phil

This is an old pic, the stock rocker panels are painted and back on.
