Well if that works I'd check the gas tank vent line which I believe runs parallel to the filler line.

Please see this to retrieve any OBD codes:
Land Rover Troubleshooting: retrieving fault codes

Also, see this: https://code.google.com/p/rovergauge/
This program can interface with you 14CUX ECM and display engine temperature, road speed, engine speed, and other details, using meters and gauges. This data may be very helpful in diagnosing your troubles.

Would have been a valid point, but it starts at the first half-turn of the wheel - in fact engine is turning over slower than the starter.

Replaced the coil, and fitted ANOTHER ignition amplifier module (this time a Luca OEM.

Immediate starting, perfect running, exactly correct and smooth idling.

For a week - and dead as a doornail. Tow starts immediately.

Then even that failed. Dead. No fuel pressure.

Removed fuel pump and ran it with alcohol from a battery. Squirts a one yard stream.

Put the fuel pump back and it starts immediately and no issue whatsoever.

For a week, and dead as driftwood again - not even towing can start it.

Work on it, try and try but zero result.

Bridge the impact switch. Imediate start and smoother than ever running.

For a day? Two? Another week and then will fail on me out in the boondocks?

Darn stupid vehicles - simply read all the similar starting issues on this forum...
