Default Stereo Serial Number

Heya folks,

I tried the code that the dealership gave me, and it didn't work. So I ordered the removal tool, hoping to find the serial number on the radio itself. Pulled the radio, and there's no writing on it. There is a spot on the bottom that looks like there used to be a sticker there, but no serial number i can find.

Where should I be looking for the serial number? Anyone have any pictures?

Is it also printed inside by any chance?

Thanks

Leave your ignition on in the 1 position so just your stereo is on and leave it on for an hour, then re-try your code. If the code was entered wrong at all at any point then it locks so you can't try again until it resets. I struggled with the same issue for weeks, got the code from the dealer and it didn't work until I tried that.

Tried that already. I'm pretty sure this isn't the original radio.

in this case unfortunately you are probably out of luck. one of the only things I like about GM is there factory radios have a code programmed into the radio and that E-code is plugged into a database to give you the unlock code. the only thing I can suggest is checking around the truck (under hood, inside glove box, etc.) for a hand written code. if you can't find it maybe a new radio.

I would suggest you try leaving the truck and radio on again for 2 hours, just to make sure.

I have another radio and just looked inside it. No serial number anywhere, only the sticker on the back of it. It is not on the sticker on the bottom, it is a separate sticker on back.

I'll try one more time; the sticker on the back was also removed (I can see the residue).
