This is probably it.

The fixer-upper I had before getting my rover was a volvo S70. It too had a sticky pedal. I PB blastered all moving parts of the throttle body, cable linkages and springs and as much of the end of the throttle cable as I could.

Pedal moved nice and smooth after that.

As a Newbie to all stuff Rover and Mechanical ( ME-CAN-A-CAL), PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING. If you have done it all ready, very good.

1.Download RAVE in Savanah's signature for free.
2. Get familar with your vehicle. It takes a while tolearn what is what, but the more you try to more comfortable you will bcome, the more fun it will be and the better and safer it will be.
3. Go over it well, clean up and lubricate linkages on all things, especially door locks and hinges and even ignition key mechanism needs to be lubed to reduce problems with it.
4.Work your way thru the sticky about fluids and filters. Power Steering uses Tranny Fluid not PS Fluid.
5. If you are unsure about things like spark plugs and wires, get new ones.
6. Read as much as you can on here and use search function.
7. Beware of what parts you buy!
8. Get a creeper and a light and explore it underneath from front to back. Learn what everything is and where it is. We give test unannouced.
9. Add more info like LOCATION and Vehicle data on your signature.
10. You ar responsible for buying all of us who give you advice a bottle of Fine Rum or other Fine Whiskey. Welcome Aboard.

Thanks... it helped a lot! I still have a slight stiffness but you can barely tell it.

Thanks for all the help... My problem is completely fixed!!! The gas pedal is smooth and now I have nice easy take offs.
