Default Stock fog light switch question

Today I installed some Hella 500 fogs and i used the stock fog light wiring and switch. Question is...does anyone know how to modify the stock fog light switch to work independently of the headlights? I spliced a cut and spliced a wire on my car to enable the use of the fogs with just the running lights a few years back. Anyone know how to do this on the disco?

Switch by itself won't handle those amps for long, a relay controlled by it would be better.

Doesn't it have a stock relay? I just want to be able to turn on the lights whenever i want regardless of headlights

Would a hot wire from the battery to the switch not accomplish this?

Here is the stock wiring, with a relay. But does not link to head lights?

Hellas 500's should be fine on the stock switch/wiring. Anything larger and I'd run a separate relay and wiring.
If you're really worried about it wire the switch to close ground instead of hot.
