The exhaust gasket on my #8 cylinder keeps busting every 2 months and I can't figure out why... I keep it torqued to spec and was checking weekly. The bust is always in the same spot (top bolt hole). I tried the flimsy metal gasket and it happened as well. Any creative ideas to keep this thing from breaking?

Im to the point that I can change a gasket out in under 10 minutes...

 

Try doubling up the gasket on that port and see if that helps.

Check your motor mounts. I had the gasket between the headers and y-pipe blow out. I replaced the mounts and still going strong.

 

I like the motor mount suggestion. Have you checked the flange face for square?

 

Motor mounts are new as of last year. I haven't checked for square because I figured the bolts would square it up... silly me I guess
