On the radio you have, does it have low level output? If so, I would give it a try ...just touch the wires and see what you get. You could go up from there. If you wanted a factory radio, I would check with a bunch of these guys on C/L that are parting out Disco's and see if you can get a better deal than the units selling on Ebay. Maybe some Junk yards too. You would need to get the serial number of the radio and maybe the vin of the vehicle you took it out, and go to L/R and get the code.

What are you getting for pricing on a windshield, BTW?

Current low price is $400 installed.

I got a chance to dig deeper on radio harness and was pleasantly surprised. The low level inputs were wired in, just not plugged into radio. The factory wiring is still intact - the 3 wires they cut were done so that there is still a long enough lead off of connector that it can be re-spliced also. I also found the dimmer wire in place - just not plugged in. I'll get it plugged in and report back. Russ

Plugged in and works great - just about doubled the sound output. That was my first complaint with this truck, no low range. But now I'm happy!! On to the next thing... Russ

Nice (and inexpensive) resolution to the problem.
