Suggestions for replacing floor insulation
I had to rip out the front floor insulation in my 97 Disco because the truck had a leak and the saturated padding caused some bad rust in my floorboards. I'm in the process of patching them up right now but am thinking of yanking out the whole carpet and remaining padding and replacing it with something else. Anyone done this lately?
Was thinking about Rhino lining the floor but worried about it being too loud. Any suggestions or idea would be great

You will want padding, not just bed liner only. One source is junkyard, where you can take it from a Disco - or another vehicle. And Rustoleum Rust Reformer comes in a handy spray can. By padding, I mean that you'll want something besides a coated floor.
Eric, have you used Lizard skin and does it work well?
Yes, I want more then just a coated floor and was looking for an other options then carpet as I was hoping to go with a rubber floor of some sort, something much easier to clean. Maybe I need to make a trip to a junk yard soon

One option is to coat the interior in Lizard Skin to dampen sound and insulate. Then I'll add rubber or carpet mats for comfort and ease of cleaning.
You can also combine Lizard Skin, bed liner, insulation, and carpet in any combination.
I haven't used Lizard Skin yet but I hear it works very well.

ive done this on several other cars ive had in the past and you can buy varying thickness under carpet insulation at your favorite local home improvement or hardware store.
i generally use something on the thinner side, and you can cut it into shapes to fit the floor and tack it onto the preformed carpet.
really cheap, really easy, and its generally more mold/wet nasty smell resistant than the aged fiber stuff thats normally found in cars.
