Default sunroof motor gear

Is there a replacement for the sunroof motor gear? My motors work fine but the gear is not engaging the cables properly.

See attached, you my be able to manually move it and get it back in a working spot. And since you have Pull A PArt salvage yards in multiple locations around Atlanta, and they have like 6 - 10 Discos, might be worth a trip. You can look up their inventory on line for model year and location.

I replaced the track assemblies with new factory parts and the motor slips at times. I switched my rear motor with the front and it is much better but not perfect. Both motors look to have wear on the gear and I am afraid that one from PAP might not be any better. I guess I could take a pair of calipers with me and measure the gears and reference against my worn ones.

A fun day at the boneyard beats a good day at the office... I think of PAP as Porsche Audi Parts, a dismantler that used to be over near Chamblee, those prices put the "oww" in "Audi"....

I thank they are now Stuggart Parts in Cleveland GA.

I did spend my share of time and money at Porsche and Audi parts.

I drove by the junkers here this week. No telltale signs of LR's. I've never been to one...they look seriously intimidating here...of course that wouldn't stop me but it's not encouraging. Nothing like Georgia I'm assuming.

see this site, even has aerial photos, they'll have 1000 guys out there on a weekend. There are ones in southern Cal that have 8000 show up on a weekend. It is a lot of fun for a couple of dollars to get in the door.

Intimidated? Ha - how long would it take you to grab an alternator out of one?

No, you'll do fine. When truck is running you can drive to the end of PR-625 in the hills and send us some pix - nothing even close anywhere else.

you know my little island. panoramic view of the mountains (el junque) and valleys from that point. i'd send you some lechon, morcilla and medalla but it wouldn't be any good when it arrived. it sure is good from the 625. that's spit roasted pork, blood sausage and cold beer for those who don't know.
