Is there a scanner and an ultra guage that can be used on a 94 DI pre OBDII?

Yeah, Pre 94... I sure somebody makes a car type computer that would give you readouts similar to an ultragauge.... Would piggyback or replace the oil, and temp sensors... Tach, Etc...
Here's a place to start...
Or were you thinking about something like this..

You could do something like this, PGP-3MHL-BK Spyder 3-Hole Gauge Pod For 52mm Gauge for 94-04 Land_Rover Discovery at Andy's Auto Sport and mount them on the a-pillar or even the dash. I would be very interested to see this as I too am pre OBD2.

Water temp, oil pressure, and voltage are all easy to do gauges. Volts tell you the alternator is dying off, oil PSI can come from a sandwich adapter on the filter or replace the oil PSI switch, and water temp could go in this spot under the stat openning. Used to be a heater line on older models.

BTW, if doing all mechanical gauges, use nylon oil gauge line, it does not conduct so much engine noise into the cab.

Yep, gauges are your best bet, as others have said.
Though someone did make some software with basic functionality for the 14cux. Requires making a cable, and uses software installed on a laptop.
cmb : 14CUX Software
I'll have to give it a try someday, it looks interesting.
