Default took out the Y pipe

On my 96 SE7 if i drop the Y pipe down shouldnt i get rpm. It won't go more than 2000rpm. There is no difference with it on or off. I thought there would be some kind of change. Anyone have any ideas?? thanks

Any codes, have you checked your fuel pressure?

Not to undercut ya Jake, seriously. I'll toss out my guess as the Throttle Position Sensor. If it fails in the closed position it cuts fuel above 1750 rpm. Just another sensor to check on. Anybody who'd drop the "Y" pipe to check Cat restriction deserves a couple of options.....

You can watch the TPS live on a live data OBDII scanner, if its dead the values on the scanner for the TPS will not change with your foot on the go pedal.
