Default transfer case issues

Ok so i posted about probally blowing my t case a week or so ago. I have a donor but im not sure still its my t-case. I also had a busted front left axle and cv joint, but when first problem occured on hwy on way back from superlift i lost all forward movemet and reverse, t case was smoking and fluid had leaked all over the undercarriage. ( I assumed t case oil sine thats where it looked

tomorrow after work tonight i plan to reassemble the front axle and test the t case again with the axles in. but my case was smoking and leaking, should i even bother or should I go ahead and change case?

will taking a peek in the inspection plate offer me any idea to damage in t case? just looking for more insight before I get this one out the donor was hard enough.

with local rain, and the breaking of my family DD a day after rover (96' honda odessey 320xxx miles finally threw a rod) i was forced to buy a 2013 nissan versa monday 1.6l 4cyl 5spd and it has been taking away from rover time. (though the versa is really nice and large enough in the trunk and floor boards to support rover from the camp ground), but with this beautiful weekend ahead i would love to get rover rolling again.

anyone know what kind of a bit(h it is to get the t case back on? does it readily mount up to the tranny? or is it a pain lining up and getting the input shaft in the t case?

thanks yall, lots of hard work ahead and just ready to get rover rolling again but worried if im working down the right path..
Steven

Its Not as much a bitch since you know where everything is, but can be a pain. You need to make up some kind of adapter to sit it right on your jack to get up there, otherwise you'll never get it lined up. The rave manul gives you some specs to build one, and just tweak for your jack and how high you need it. Here's what I did, used the inspection cover from my old case and made up an adapter for my jack to hold where rave said and it worked perfectly, case on there it stood on its own even jacked up, made install a breeze.

Sorry for the rotated pic, it's straight in my phone, forum rotated it lol
