Transfer case shift alarm?
I finally was able to try out my transfer box hi/lo operation today for the first time since replacing the wiring to the solenoid and position switch that the Yahoos had cut off. I didn't think my soldering of new wires on the position switch's 1/16" long wire stubs was successful when I tested the switch, but I wired it anyhow while I had the harness apart.
Today I was hearing a continuous buzz-tone alarm if the shift lever was not shoved forcefully into high or low; does this mean the position switch is actually working? I couldn't think of anything else that would trigger an alarm that turns off if I push the transfer box shifter harder.
In low it acted like it took a little time for the drive train to catch, almost a slip and grab or wind-up feeling. Is this normal? Once moving it did something that felt similar, but I think it might be just auto tranny gear changes at lower speed than I am used to. BTW, the CDL works easily now and I can hear it clink in
