Two steps forward and one step back.
Good thing is everything I did seems to be okay. No more vibrations. No more clunks going over speed bumps (did those rear end links). That's a plus.

However, I did observe a rubbing intermittent whoosh whoosh whoosh noise. Only occurs when traveling forward, NOT reverse. I found if I slightly applied brakes to not really lower speed, but to put pressure on rotors with the pads it stopped so I'm thinking it's a hung up pad or something. I looked at the brakes and the rotors have some scoring and there's MAYBE 1 to 2mm before pads are even with calipers. Yikes. Not good. I also noticed some excessive brake pedal travel. So I guess it's time to get some pads and the rotors ground, rotors are still meaty. I don't think it's anything wrong with the u joints I installed.

Ive been so busy lately diagnosing other issues I didn't even observe how ****ty my brakes had gotten. That's sad. I love this truck but she's costing me a fortune lately.

EDITED TO ADD: Looked into it further. Turns out my R/RR rotor has a very, very slight warp. Time for new rear rotors....

...you sure did some good work on that D1 ROB99DISCOSD, you must have some decent tools and knowledge to get as far as you did.

I'm pretty much confined to replacing fluids and some filters, have replaced tranny's gasket though, but did not venture into changing the oil pan's, had a mechanic friend of mine do it. I have replaced the rockers cover gasket, heck! I even took those rockers out and cleaned them good, that's as far deep as I've gotten on the engine, maybe cause lack of right tools, knowledge and confidence. I've done as much as I could on my D2 with my limited resources. ;-]#

Been wanting and needing to replace all ball joints, had seen some videos and overall seems a "fairly-easy straightforward job" that needs tools and muscle, parts are relatively cheap, will keep putting some thought into it.

Good to know you are in my neck-of-the-woods... Happy Father's Day!
