Transmission fluid and filter change on a Disco 1

You got to get out of Kennesaw Mountain more often and see the real world!
You'd be amazed what you can run into!
I even seen one place with topless beach volleyball!
I want to open a Land Rover Off Road Service center, complete with scantily clad women dancing around the campfire and a beach volleyball court and oil changes complete with lube jobs.... It would have to be in a remote location requiring water-crossings and hill climbs and mud pits just to get there.
Anyone interested in becoming a Charter Member of The ExtraOrdinary Gentlemen's and Land Rover Owner's Group?
Annual trip to Slang's place in PR is on the agenda.

After reading through this I'm not quite sure what I should do in my situation. My trucks fluid is more brown then red and smells slightly burnt, but the transmission still works perfectly normal and hasn't started malfunctioning yet. If I replace the fluid at this point will it be more likely to fail? Would it be better to just leave the current fluid in and save up for a new transmission?
