Default Ujoint advice

OK I am going to replace the u joint on the rear axle this week as I think my clicking may be coming from that, I did both the front drive shaft u joints about 6 months back and removed the drive shaft to do it, my question is has anyone done one with the drive shaft still on the truck? I am just wondering if it is worth taking it out for easier work or just easier to do it on my back under the truck? I suppose I could unbolt the rotoflex first then remove just the 2 caps of the u joint to take the shaft out that way, just looking for personal experiences.

I'd remove it. I'd not to want to replace a u-joint without removing the propshaft.

Make sure you grease them 1 to 2 times a year depending on your driving.

Spicer's service interval is every 5,000 miles for normal service, not "1 to 2 times a year".

Yeah, I do it every oil change as well. There's absolutely no harm in doing it more often and it's easier to remember just doing it every oil change.
