Default Ultragauge RAM Mount

By request, here's how I setup a RAM mount for my Ultragauge.

I bought:
2x
Amazon.com: RAM Mount Square Amazon.com: RAM Mount Square

1x
Amazon.com: RAM Mount Composite Short Double Socket Arm Amazon.com: RAM Mount Composite Short Double Socket Arm

Those are the cheapest RAM mount components I know of. Longer arms are available if needed.

I took one of the two square bases and cut it down to better fit the rear of the Ultragauge mount and allow clearance for the rear menu buttons. The mount has a pre-cast hole right down the middle that I drilled and tapped 1/4-20 threads into. I then used a flat head machine screw and countersunk the middle of a washer so it would fit as low as possible. If the head of the screw is too tall the Ultragauge can't clip on the mount all the way.

[QUOTE=EricTyrrell;419378]By request, here's how I setup a RAM mount for my Ultragauge...

Thanks, Eric. I appreciate the details. I wasn't sure in your earlier post if by "custom" you meant that you had ordered and installed RAM mounts (stock), or if you had also "modified" the RAM parts as ordered. Now, I can better understand your modifications. Also, thanks for the Amazon links w/pricing. I was looking on RAM Mounting Systems, Inc., but I don't have personal experience ordering from that website.
