All this for a trip to LA (lower Alabama). It is shorter from Katy to Alabama than Katy to El Paso (an in-state weekend jaunt).

 

Let me be clear we ( family ) normally go to Gulf Shores or Destin every year, just want to make sure everything is as good as I can get it. My wife's car won't cut it not enough room 09 Cadillac SRX with magnetic ride control shocks etc... no way I'm putting a trailer hitch on there just for my cargo basket,the shocks are $330 each. I used to own a 1996 Mitsubishi Montero before the LR and I had it in tip top shape, wanted something newer and different.
