Update on my new Discovery
OK,I have had a few days to fool around with it and have been getting together all the parts I need to do the 60k plus maint.
A few issues have cropped up and I could use some help trying to figure out how best to tackle and also what lift I have. It is siting about 36.5" to fender lip front and about 37.5" to fender lip rear on 285/75/16 General Grabber A/T's. Would that be a 2" or 3" lift? Gut says OME but anyway to know for sure shocks are yellow but can't see any markings.
1. The doors / alarm / key fob are driving me INSANE :complain:
The damn doors basically lock / unlock when they want. The passenger door cannot be opened from inside or out using key or handles. The drivers is making a rat-tat-tat sound when you lock it. The locks lock about 75% of the time when you hit the key fob but then unlock again but it is a frustration that a lot of the time the horn / alarm goes off or I have to repeatedly hit the key fob button. I am starting to think that given the issues and the fact that I only have one key / fob I will be quite SOL if I don't address this first and am contemplating changing all the locks and keys. i see there is a kit that has all locks and new ignition / keys / fobs. expensive though
2. Front sunroof not working and I tried swapping the front to rear switches since the rear is working but nothing no noise at all does not budge.
3. Passengers side rear door sill is pretty rusted I assume best solution is to cut and weld plate in there? I want to add rock sliders do they use the holes on the side sills or bolt direct to the frame? I am looking at a few different ones and would like something with a tree guards and jack points that attaches to frame so I can add them now as not really in mood to tackle body work right now. Plus the tree guards will help the GF get in easier, LOL.
4. ABS light is on and the ABS fuse has been pulled. Would the PO have done this since the tire size is beyond the capability of the ECU to handle? I know on a Porsche this is an issue when guys go to tires over 4% of the OEM diameter.
5. Is there anyplace that has a DETAILED schematic / part numbers for the Discovery? I have RAVE but not very detailed compared to other manufacturers systems. I have a few items minor OEM interior parts, clips, etc... I want to order but cannot figure out what the part numbers are.

4. The ABS probably has something wrong with it, not related to tire size (assuming they are all the same size). The PO probably almost ran into someone or slid through an intersection, and then pulled the fuse.
5. Çàï÷àñòè äëÿ Land Rover click "in english" and then microcat. Also for the rave, make sure you have downloaded the ENTIRE thing, the one with the large file warning, or you are missing important stuff.

1. ditch the FOB and lock your doors with the key, if you unlock the passenger door with the key the alarm system will set off, only the driver's door can be unlocked with the key without setting off the alarm. If it doesn't open inside or out, you'll need to pull the door panel and check if there is a rod not attached where it's supposed to be. Otherwise, maybe the latch is bad.
2. Either the motor is fried or the tracks are bad. There is a small cap, try prying it out and use an allen key to open/close the sunroof. If it moves, the motor is bad if it doesn't you need new tracks.
3. yes replacing a rusted part with good metal is the only way to completely get rid of rust. Most of the sliders on sale use the holes on the sills.
4-5. ^^^^ What he said, the ABS on Rovers is not that good and it can be really expensive to fix.

I agree with JULL, Ditch the FOB, only use the key, much less problems. And Lock and unlock only the drivers door with the key. The others should lock/unlock from doing the drivers door.
If you have an alarm issue, you could find yourself stranded and then need to be flatbedded to the Stealership. Hope you got lots of disposable income if you go with replacing all the locks and keys and such.
Have Fun with your Rover, I do with Mine.
