Default Well.. No Discovery I or II for now..

Hows it going people!!

So I sold my discovery a week ago, Im bout to head out there to get the license plate and to fix the lock [He was going to get it towed to LR. ] So Im headed over there on my NEW NINJA 250R.

Dont laugh I just wanted something I could get in CHEAP to see if motorcycles are for me. Its only 1 month old. 4700$ BRAND NEW, the dude sold it to me for 2700 with a helmet [130$] backpack and gloves.

Best part a tank of gas cost me 13$ And insurance is only 8$ a month.. Bringing my total savings too.....

750$ A MONTH

Im still getting that 03 discovery for 1k , The lady needs to drive it for another week or two because her other car is in the shop. Thats fine with me no rush. If for some reason it doesn't go through Im gonna get a NICE 04

Not a bad deal. They are saying gas is suppose to go over $6 a gallon in chicago. I just fill my cherokee up for $65. I was thinking about getting a moped.

That's a pretty small bike isn't it?

The 2003 for a grand sounds interesting. Does that have a CDL?

Its pretty small but the newer models are quite hard to tell that there only a 250,

and laugh all you want I drove 200MILES today on 12$....... going 70-80 most of the time

I got it just to see if its something I would like. And guess what I LIKE IT.

Its super fun to drive around town. I honestly wouldn't want anything bigger for a street bike. But its not so nice for interstate cruising, not because of the engine size but its obviously not as relaxing as a car and over 70 the wind is no fun, cross winds want to blow the bike from under you [normal? Its my first bike] and if your not tucked in the wind head on tries to take you off the bike, and tucking in is not very comfortable, nor does it look cool to be tucked in holding a steady 65 or 70.

Now I see cuisers just sitting back doing 70-80 like its nothing and I feel like im holding on for dear life. Must be the windscreen? Im looking for a bigger one.

Anyways lots of people love these bikes becasue there so small they can whip around corners better than the bigger bikes.

I have yet to perfect the lean, it seems when im going over 50 my body is like "Oh no you dont!" and I hit this invisible wall and Im trying to lean but my body wont let.

Its going to be perfect for the ride to work, only concern i have is the 50m road to work is pretty twisty..

As for a future bike, I can see me keeping this small bike forever, as I said its super fun to ride around town. Unless I get on a bigger bike[650 dual sport] and find its THAT much more comfortable to cruise on I see no reason for anything bigger.. I can beat just about any car on the street, I can go 110mph and I get 60-70mpg. What else could I possibly need?

My first bike was a Yamaha 500. It would do over 100 in third gear with two more left. I bought it in Jacksonville Florida. I would cruise to Atlanta on Friday night and back to the base on Sunday afternoon. Jump on I-95N and cruise at 90 to 100 for an hour or so, put in a dollars worth of gas (1973 prices), stretrch the legs and climb back on.

A larger bike cruises much better than a small lightweight cafe racer/crotch rocket.

Especially the big monster bikes that all the Japanese brands now produce with 1600cc's or so and a drive shaft. You barely crack the throttle and it's zooming off like a fricking rocket ship and smooth as can be.

A crotch rocket can be fun to zip around on, but a big cruiser is in a totally different realm of riding. I saw a piece about Paul Sr. and JR. from Orange County Cycles are coming out with a production cruiser they want to sell to the general public thru a Dealer network. Talk about a bad *** bike. They go whole hog for power and a special style of their own, but they always run like a scalded ape.

After you get the hang of the two wheeler, go to a big dealership that will let you demo ride a big cruiser. You will be amazed>>>>>>>

Dual sport! Like a BMW f800 or a ktm 650, never will rude a cruiser!

I love the gas mileage!

You don't know what you are missing, a dual sport just means there are two different sports that it does neither equally well.

It's not the windscreen, a heavier bike holds the road better.
