I use Rotella 5w-40 in the winter.
Rotella HD-30 in the summer.
NAPA Gold oil filters.
Change it every 5,000 miles.

 

ROTFL - I checked with Advanced Auto - and the "Special Occasion" oil you listed was a "Dealer Only" item. How fitting.......

 

I put Delo 15-40 in mine, but I think it's a bit too heavy for my winters. Oil light stays on for a few more seconds than I like.

I just started using Castrol GTX High Mileage, weights depend on weather, I just refer to owners manual. But yeah my disco has a lot of miles so I take no chances and I've heard nothing bad about Castrol yet so.

Transfer Case - 75W - 90 Royal Purple (people swear by this stuff)
Transmission Case aka R380 - Dexron3 and .5quart of penzoil synchrshift. I've heard great things about Ovoline MT75D but I dont know where to get this stuff... I don't want to keep ATF in there...
Difs - Mobile 1 75W - 90

 

I have used Castrol GTX in everything I drive since High School (minus the Harley, I let the dealer rip me off their for some reason). I will be putting High Milage in Disco starting this weekend when i give it a good going over. Anyone have any thoughts on Lucas products? I have used them a lot in the past for nearly everything, fuel, oil, and tranny.
