What exactly activates the anti theft?
See title. Currently waiting to get my key fob programmed. But in the meantime, my anti-theft seems to go off whenever I touch the wheel before putting keys in the ignition OR when a passenger gets in before the key is in the ignition? Maybe? that's my current theory.
So, I'm just wondering what exactly is supposed to set off the D1's anti-theft alarm? That way I can avoid doing those things until the fob gets straightened out. That might be a dumb question tbh, but I'm new here! have some mercy please haha

seems like just about anything sets them off when they are acting up. i had mine go off when I opened a door, or opened the hood. or bump the shifter. Once I got it shut off using the door key, it played nice. until I got wiring fixed and the alarm computer replaced, I was disconnecting the battery all the time to shut of the horn. I ended up replacing the ECU and the alarm module to keep it quiet. I then sent both in to have them checked out and was told the alarm module was junk. I had them disable the alarm system completely and never looked back. He also got my remote set up to work too. Once I got it back and installed, I noticed my MPG's increased and the truck ran better, or maybe I just think it is better. I am using less fuel..
I also unplugged the switch under the hood to bypass that part of the alarm.

If that doesn't, I'm gonna see if they can just disarm the alarm system. That seems like a good call.

This is the correct answer. I went to a University that was for the most part a closed campus. The surrounding town was small and bikes were the primary mode of transport for both university and residents. I had a beautiful mountain bike that I loved to single track on, but I never rode it around town or on campus. The only bike that I went around on was a multi-panted fat-tire cruiser with a huge basket Nox Vidmate VLC mounted on the front handlebars.
