I want one of these bad, I just wished they hadn't copied the Humvee look so much. I get why they did it because when they made these in the mid 90's the rest of the world was hummer crazy just like now with fake chinese iphones. These ship with 4 wheel steering, CDL, Front Locker and Rear Locker, oh and a Turbo diesel.

Exactly. And that's why Cruisers with over 200K are still going for $8000. And 4Runners with over 200K are just south of that. I'd have to sell my DI twice (at top dollar)to get the Cruiser I want, which has twice the mileage of my DI. Because even though the Cruiser and DI are very comparable in a sort of "on paper" way(in my opinion), it's the reliability and longevity that holds the value of the Cruisers up. And like Spence said, people are afraid of Land Rovers, because of their well-established reputation for looking pretty good while rotting in the driveway.

you know the only thing i never replaced was the crankshaft position sensor. and the rave says.

The crankshaft position sensor is the most important
sensor on the engine. It is located in the left hand side
of the flywheel housing and uses a different thickness
of spacer for manual and automatic gearboxes. The
signal it produces informs the ECM:
- the engine is turning
- how fast the engine is turning
- which stage the engine is at in the cycle.
As there is no default strategy, failure of the
crankshaft sensor will result in the engine failing to
start. The fault is indicated by illumination of the
malfunction indicator light (MIL) on North American
specification vehicles.

but of course mine starts

Electronics are goofy, man. Might as well look into it. At least pop it out and try cleaning it or something. Check the connections for corrosion, etc. You might also entertain the notion that some of the wiring could be a little jacked up. You could replace every stinkin' component in that system, but if one of the signal wires is a little frayed somewhere, it could be messing with it.

I repair small electronics for a living. Less than 30% of smart phones, gps units, laptops and tablets can be successfully repaired after liquid exposure. I can't imagine tackling it on a Rover scale.

I will say that I was never up at 3am on a Sunday AM discussing the reliability of a vehicle until I owned a Rover.
