Default What are these plugs?

I am a proud owner of a non-running 1998 Discovery 1 50th Edition. The previous owner took the term bone-head to new levels. So, I am sorting out what some of the issues are.

On the passenger side of the engine, underneath the heat shield by the engine mount, there is a portion of cable. There was a Lambda plug (Oxygen sensor) stuffed next to it but not plugged in. Is this the plug in for the oxygen sensor/Lambda sensor for the passenger side portion of the catalytic converter? My best guess is, yes. The oxygen sensor plug in portion was stuffed right next to it, but not plugged in. The bone head did slide the cats on some rocks and straight piped the cat on that side. So, he would not have actually used it. Also, it is NOT the knock sensor since that is plugged in properly nor does it appear to be anything having to do with the starter... which is right there also.

The next cable is a bit trickier. At the very top of the transmission (I am dropping and replacing the tranny this weekend so, if need, I can get a solid photo) there is the wire housing. There is a plug that comes out toward the passenger side, also. There is a lengthier plug coming out. But, the other end is completely gone and broken off, so I have no idea what it goes to. Again, very top of the transmission, just above the bell housing. And, it falls down toward the passenger side and the cable is a bit longer (Inside the wiring is yellow and red - entirely covered with black plastic).

If anyone knows for certain the plug underneath the heat shield is in fact the oxygen sensor for the cat, awesome. But, what is the other one? I had a plug for the bottom portion of the passenger side catalytic converter, so not sure what this thing is.

Below are better photos that I took after dropping the transmission. The plug in question is black and it is actually clipped in to the top of the transmission where it attaches at the block. What is this plug and where does it go to? I do not have anything that is missing a plug.

I would say that it is for the passenger downstream O2.

Thanks for responding. But, that's not it. Just checked. The plugs do not match for the O2 sensors to that particular plugin. Whatever it is, there is a bolt at the very top of the transmission that this clips to so that it does not move. The other end that I have is chewed up probably from being dragged all over the road, or hitting the propeller shafts. But, I cannot find anything that is missing something being plugged in to.

definitely looks like an O2 sensor plug.

but to be sure, search for WaltNYC on these forums. in his signature there are links to the RAVE manual. you should be able to download the shop manual and the Electrical Library for the D1.

WaltNYC... thank you for the links.

The plug that I am looking at is NOT the oxygen sensor as the male does not fit the female. I'll dig through these manuals and see if I can find where this all goes.
