Whats this noise?

Default Whats this noise?

it sounds like a tweeting bird stuck in the engine, I thought fanbelt but tbh being my first Disco thought id ask as im sure you guys will know?

its constant, doesnt change tone when accelerating etc and also doesnt stop when driving.

Does that make sense?

Most probably the belt tensioner pulley bearing. A pulley would have to be sticking in order for it to make the belt chirp. Sounds like it's time to remove the belt and start checking pulleys by hand. Wiggle and spin. Shouldn't be any movement counter to it's axis.

+1...easy to release the tensioner and check all the pulleys, how many miles?

No really and heres me thinking that under the bonnet is just a magical place where things all fix themselves
