Unhappy won't start after running through deep water

So I take my daughters out riding around yesterday and went through a deep water rut.. wasn't that deep, but as soon as I came out the motor quit. Opened bonnet, motor is covered in water. I let it dry a little, finally started and was able to drive home. Even stopped at store and it started again no problem. Since sitting in garage all night and day today, now won't start at all. Weird part is when I turn the key to start it, it does nothing until after a few seconds before it starts to turn over.

Not sure where to start on figuring out what the problem is. It just turns over and over and over. Never had a problem before now, even going through puddles just as deep.

Suggestions please?

Wet ecu does not sound good at all... what should I do with it? Dry it out and it'll be ok or replace it?

Oh boy. I so need an undercarriage splash guard.

Nope. Open hood. Locate ECU in plastic box on passenger side fender. Clean up ECU, then seal up with silicone, etc.
