Can anyone help me with how to reset the "service engine soon" light on my 03 disco. The nearest dealer to me is 100 miles away. Besides I'd rather work on it myself. Also, I just bought this Rover a few months ago, what are some things I should look out for. Thanks.

 

I Just bout a 03 disco with 51k about 2 thousand miles or more into it i realzied i needed an oil change, it was a little sluggish. i waited about 1200mi more and the service engine light came on, i was pissed and my friend said trust me change the oil happens to me all the time. I noticed how the car felt alot less kick the oil looked crapy, my friend and i switched the oil with mobil one synthetic put oil flush through it and i put fuel cleaner into the gastank on empty. same day we put on an air intake and a borala exaust. The engine light just went off today and its running superb and this is even after we broke the radiator hose and it shot everyware so i thought it would never go off but it did after a good amount of driving around town for 2 days i thought maybe get the comp flashed but nope it went off. So i bet just switch the oil your self with mobil 1 synthetic i personally know its the best from experiance get what ever type depending on your climate read the owners manual on how to do it, So you dont miss anything- {it has what type of oil for your climate on one of the back pages 200 somthing} add the oil cleaner and the fuel cleaner (on an empty tank) put shell Vpower in and i would most gurantee it will go off in about 2 days

 

How many miles on your trk? Is it the "Service Engine" or "Check Engine" light?
