Default replacement key fob?

I have seen a zillion replacement remote/key fobs on ebay and a new one seems to be like 275 at the dealer... anyone know of a site selling a good solid fob shell with a blade firmly attached (not wobbly like the ebay ones... made that mistake already) that I could take and have cut and would be a good solid replacement key? Can anyone direct me to a good parts website for something like this? Thanks. LR Disco 2 '03

This is the best way to go. You order the key and pay around 180.00USD, you get a new key fob and programmer. takes 10 seconds to program key fob. You send the programmer back, you get refunded 30.00 and he will email the EKA code to you. Take the key to a locksmith with your key code(not EKA code) or a good key and get it cut.
Caution, you must have a working key(not FOB) to turn the ignition on, in order for the programmer to work.

I have bought the cases from this seller and the fits tight. I usually throw a dab of super glue in just for security. You need to gently push over the two tabs towards the center that hold the remote PCB in place. Besides that, nice product and my locksmith has no problems cutting the key blade.

Same here. Paid $15 for 2 new replacements on eBay. Opened my FOB, removed the circuit board. Put my board in new FOB. Took pliers, pulled off my blade, put my old key blade in new FOB with drop of glue. Solid as anything. 2 new FOB remotes. Done.

Hi Abran You have answered may of my questions in the past in the LR3 section.
I need a new OEM quality replacement key fob circuit board self charge battery as the original.
Im in New Jersey LR3 V8 2006.
Can you recommend best route without having to go to dealer ?
And not having to buy a gap tool which seems to be $400-500.
thank you.
