Default '00 Disco cranks but won't start

I have a 2000 Discovery 2 that always starts when it's cold. After it warms up it won't start. I'm was getting the following codes:
P0171 Oxygen Sensor Too Lean Fault Bank A
P0174 Oxygen Sensor Too Lean Fault Bank B
P0733 Incorrect Gear 3 Ratio
P0734 Incorrect Gear 4 Ratio
Yesterday I cleaned the MAF sensor and cleared the codes, ran the truck for about 2 hours combined idling and driving. And it seemed to be OK. I started it and turned it off about 50 times and it worked great. Today my wife took the truck out and after she turned it off it wouldn't restart. It is not showing any faults. In desperation I gave it a blast of ether and it started and ran well after a few seconds. On the way home it stalled at a red light after idling for about a minute. Another blast and we made it home. I parked it and it fired right back up.

The truck is all original except for a K&N Air Cleaner (serviced 2 months ago), Bosch Platinum +4 Plugs (6 months ago). Regular service has been performed. I swapped out the SLS airbags for springs about 2 years ago. I have had this truck for about 7 years and this is the first time it has left me sit please advise.

The reason it wont start when hot is the crank sensor is bad.
You can buy one at AutoZone.

You need a new MAF, the K&N air filter killed it.
The oil that is on the filter gets on the MAF, which is heated, the oil kills the heater elements and they wont work thus killing the MAF.
Replace your MAF and dump the K&N air filter.

I agree regarding the crank sensor.

I bought mine @ dealer $72

they're only in play below 600 rpm For startup.

luck,greg

Thanks for the help guys. I had to order the cranks sensor my local Autozone doesn't keep them in stock.

Is the MAF sensor trashed or will changing to a paper filter (Ordered with crank sensor) and cleaning it again be OK. I've been using it in the truck for about 70k miles w/o issue?

Thanks Again,
Jim

before you go autozone, remember their prices might be just as much as the Rover dealers or more then the rover parts guys.

oh and if it the vehicle keeps dying.

pour water on the crank sensor.
