Default 01 Disco 2 Sunroof -> no drains

Recently purchased an 01 disco 2 SE7. It has 1 front sunroof. After taking down the headliner to paint it I figured I'd do maintenance on the sunroof.

The sunroof appears to be factory but there are no drains on either side of the tray. And it doesn't look like they have ever been there (no broken nipples or hoses that would attach there).

Also this sunroof doesn't have the 2 "nets" like my 04. It has a solid sliding panel that fits in the tray.

I can post pics but wondered if this is normal.. Assuming it is but have never seen it mentioned anywhere.

thanks!

That is a dealer installed sunroof. Considered to be superior to factory. Your D2 must be an LE model? I think thats what the base model is called for that year.

Are the one piece shades available?
Would they fit in place of the stock roll up covers?

One lucky guy eh, the drain wells and tubes are a real PITA and the ruin of many headliners over the years.

It's listed as "2001 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY II SD" on carfax. The side emblem is SD7. Good news then on the dealer installed sunroof I guess.

thx!!

Sorry, SD is the base model, SE is the middle, HSE is the top.

You scored.

No, I have the nets.
His apparently has a solid sliding cover like most any other sunroof.
I would prefer the solid cover, especially since I'll be redoing the headliner and adding a radiant barrier soon.
It would be a good time to switch the front cover.

Can I replace my factory ones with the dealer installed ones that don't leak? (not serious, but I wish it was an option)

If you ever find out please let me know. Leaking sunroofs x2 have been the bane of my life and replacing the soaked headliner
