Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the radio silence, still working on the rover. Just got a new negative battery cable in today. The old one did have some corrosion, hoping to replace it this weekend.

Last week, suddenly, I threw all four O2 sensor codes. Passed smog a month before with no probs. Went to my shop and had codes removed. so far I'm A OK. Now, after reading this post, I'm skeptical about replacing O2 sensors in the future. Hope you get over these "ghost codes"

Hi Everyone,

Still no luck, I even changed out the MAF sensor which was going bad. I'm going to end up taking it into a local shop I trust for diagnostics. I'll update everyone as soon as I get some insights.

Hey, good luck. This is a good read. Thanks for the updates.

A thought of my own I thought worth sharing.

Wiring harness may have an intermittent fault. Give it a thorough once over. Are you able to check resistance on the O2 leads? Fairly simple procedure if you have access to a common multimeter.

Just probe each + positive O2 connector terminal to a known ground source. The higher Ohm multimeter value you measure — the better you are. The lower measurement value experienced will likely result in a exposed conductor potentially creating “noise” on the bus line. It will screw up carrying the O2 measurement signal to the ECU. Isolate that conductor then, determine what’s between it? Which O2 sensor does it correspond to?

Disconnect the offending O2 sensor lead from the ECU and plug-in the (3) other O2 sensor’s “known good” leads. Run the engine, monitor for codes. See what you get. I believe the ECU should only see the bank with know good leads reporting and not the side with a bad lead. Hope this helps.

Hi! Thank you, I just ordered a new multi-meter, the one I had in the garage was on the fritz. I'll test out the wiring as recommended, no time like this quarantine to get some work done I guess!
