Default 03 04 fog lights

As chronicled elsewhere I got an 03 04 ARB bumper for my 00 Discovery II. It takes the round fog lights so my old rectangles wouldn't fit.

I don't have access to an 03 04 Disco and can't find much info on a suitable replacement. The ARB has a round opening and round metal ring that mounts behind the bumper. Pictures of Disco fogs have bolt holes at three, irregularly spaced locations, but I can easily drill holes on the ARB ring for any forward facing bolt holes.

Would someone who knows how the Disco fogs mount take a look at http://m.ebay.com/itm/131523138163?nav=SEARCH and let me know if that would probably work in the stock Disco bumper? If they'd work there they work on mine. They are 3.5 inch.

I am not looking for blingy but I do want LED.

Best,

Charlie V

Looks to me like it would probably work. I'll sure mine in the morning to double check.

if you want LED figs. Try to retro fit these: BMW X5 OEM LED Fog Lights - Closeouts

Great pair of light for $60. Google them, there are a lot of forum posts of people retrofitting them into other vehicles. The light output is great, very horizontal and very wide.

There was a guy selling a set of stock fogs for like $90 in the classifieds. I was tempted to get them because they will fit my LR3 too, but my tightwad spirit won out this time.

One of the LR3 guys found some nice looking yellow fog bulbs that would probably work very well in inclement weather. Not LED, but still pretty cool looking and functional in my opinion.

Oh I like yellow. Don't ask me why... I just do!

Thanks for the link to the BMW fogs. I'll check them out too.

I found the metal rings that came with the ARB bumper and they look like they will work with just about anything that has a light housing diameter of 3.5 to 3.75 inches. I'll post what I do.

Just following up. I luckily found some OEM 03/04 fogs on ebay in perfect condition. I was the only bidder and got them for TWENTY FIVE dollars, plus 15 shipping. Whoop! Now looking for all of the ARB pieces to put them on.

I will be using a relay and switch on the dash pod to control them (already used my normal fog switch for the LEDs).
