Default '03 Disco Power Steering Fluid

I know that Land Rover calls for a specific type of P/S fluid but is there something in stores that's comparable? I need less about a half a pint and I'm not paying what the dealer wants........unless I have to

How many miles on your truck? Does it have ACE? I would flush it with any brand synthetic p/s fluid. I don't know if adding another brand to what you have will affect it. Why is it low? Is there a leak?

Any power steering fluid is fine, if you are at 60K or above, you should flush out the system to prevent a possible pump failure.

Don't want to thread steal but I need an answer pretty fast. I just got done replacing a hose and I have filled it back up with the dealer's fluid. I'm getting bubbles that are bubbling over out of the cap. My power steering pump is still whining like it's not getting enough fluid. Please let me know if there is a way to bleed the system. I still have the hood up so responses would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Merritt
