Default power steering fluid

To change this out, do you disconnect one of the hoses at the bottom of the reservoir or is there a drain plug beneath the pump somewhere?

The way you have described is a real messy way to do this, call me and I'll walk you thru a much cleaner, easier way.

I've always used a turkey baster to suck out all the fluid I can, clean the reservoir, then add new fluid. It doesn't change it all, but it's worked for me.

That's how I did it before, but figured there was a better way to change out all the fluid w/ the 60k service.

You are both on the right track. buy 2 quarts of Vavoline synthetic power steering fluid and a bottle of Lucas. Use your turkey baster, suck out all the fluid, refill then start the steering , turn the steering wheel both ways to full lock, turn off the engine suck out the fluid and repeat. May need to do this 3 times, then fill the bottle with the Lucas topping of with whats left of your Vavoline and your set.
It is a little waist full as to the amount of fluid, but there is no mess on the ground and by doing the refill 3 times you get better then 90% of the old fluid out and have a quieter pump.

Good deal. And here I thought I was being lazy by not undoing the hoses
