Hoses are subjected to chemicals, pressure, and high heat, then the same chemicals with low heat 24/7. Let's see, 10 years is 87,600 hours. They won't last forever. They start looking swollen like a sausage when they have broken down and become spongy. Usually at least a hour from any shop. I had a rad hose pop on my old Mercedes, and I was within 100 yards of the dealership. But nooooo, they did not stock for 1993 era cars.... would have to wait overnight. Limped to parts store. Two days later a second hose gave way.

Moral - change them all if you suspect one. And while at it on a D2, change the thermostat to a new 180F one. On line sites like Rovers North even offer a kit of various hoses and stat.
